Our Mission

Stand for Children Leadership Center’s mission is to develop leaders who use the power of grassroots action to help all children get the excellent public education and strong support they need to thrive.

Stand for Children Leadership Center exists because children in communities across America have no power to influence our democratic system to meet their fundamental needs. We help ordinary people become effective citizen leaders who use our democratic process to improve the lives of children.

We train leaders to do three critical things:

   - Recruit people with similar values.
   - Identify effective, achievable solutions to
     problems facing their community’s children.
   - Educate decision makers and voters to achieve
     these solutions.

Where Do Children Stand?

Today, for the first time in our nation’s history, the next generation will likely fare worse than their parents – unless we intervene. Global competition and automation have led to the loss of tens of millions of U.S. jobs in the past generation. For children to succeed in today's fast changing world, we must equip them to be proficient in core academic subjects, effective communicators and team players, capable of learning quickly.
